What is the ESP8266?
ESP8266 is a complete and self contained WiFi network solution that can carry software applications, or through another application processor. (This Basically means this chip can connect to or serve
How does it work?
The ESP8266 integrated circuit comes in a small package, it is controlled those this spaces on the board called a general-purpose input/output or GPIO. The processor in the board sends I send to these parts which creates control for the user. This is where you'll be wiring the majority of your projects. The ESP8266 can only take 3.3V by itself. It can take higher voltages if coupled with certain devices. We will get to that later. The silver box in the middle of the chip is what connects ad sends WIFI signals. Then you have the Tx and Rx pins which mean transmit and receive pins. The TX/RX pins can be used for any kind of serial communication. Here is a drawing or schematic of the ESP8266 system.
